The March toy fair went very well with 460 people through the doors, compared to 378 at the previous March fair, thanks goes to everyone who helped out on the day, and for the help in setting up and putting away the tables etc; but remember we need your help again at the June fair if you can make it......
                                 Annual Dinner.  March 27th.
Another good night out at the Red Lion, as always an excellent meal
with excellent company, and there's no truth at all in the rumour that only commitee members win the raffle prizes!
Don't forget, there is to be a "Vintage Rally" at our October 11th toy fair, with Haulage Vehicles playing a prominent part, I will update this when I find out the exact details...... Also the North East Meccano Society will be there with 100ft of tables and a working display you just have to see............
If you have'nt already seen it take a look at Andrew Chadwick's ERF in photo gallery, look at the detail inside, you can see why it won our last model competition............

REMINDER
Brian Wins Caretaker of the Year

As we all know, Brian Laidler retired last year as caretaker of North Lodge School where we hold our toy fairs...
But some of the year eight pupils wrote about Brian on behalf of the student council, and after been nominated by staff he won the title; "Caretaker of the Year".  Brian retired last August, after putting in more than 20 years of hard work keeping up the standards he set himself, pupils said Brian was like a friend, he was always there for us and helped whenever we needed something. Staff at the school described him as a dedicated caretaker, who often worked from 6am to 10pm & longer.... Well, we are pleased to see his efforts have been recognized and we second everything that's been said about him, and at the risk of repeating ourselves, we again wish Brian all the best in his retirement and hope he can pop in and see us at the club sometime..............
